Need guidance on Job search and other plans to live in Canada ?

Hi Seniors,

I need your suggestions on the below query:

1) i have a valid PR and @ present i work as S/W engineer in India.
2) I plan to move to canada in the mid of this year
3) @ present my wife is pregnant and due is 1st week of March
4) Just wanted to know -> How can i take my family...
Do I need to go there find job and then later take my family ?
Try and get a job in canada while u r in India and then go along with ur family ?
How many days it will take if i go and then apply for my family from canada ?

5) Suppose i get job after gng to canada..can i bring my family immedialtely through visitor visa ?
6) How about the KID ? does the baby needs visa / passport ?

Please share ur thoughts

As a PR you need to be within Canada to sponsor your wife and kid for PR.When applying you need to prove them how you support your family after they come to Canada.PR cant be outside when sponsoring for spouse and kids and he needs to be within Canada till the processing time is over.He/She can visit there spouse for 2-3 weeks during the processing

You family cant travel with you unless they have there PR or visitors visa....

How many days it will take if i go and then apply for my family from canada ?

Stage 1 Process time around 50 days and Stage 2 Process time 10 months as of today...

5) Suppose i get job after gng to canada..can i bring my family immedialtely through visitor visa ?

Its very hard to get visitor visa as you need to apply for PR...

6) How about the KID ? does the baby needs visa / passport ?

Yes baby needs passport and also visa...

How long did you live in Canada before you moved to India, and how long have you lived in India now? Remember to keep your PR status you need to show you will be living in Canada for 2 years time out of the first 5 (unless you are working for a Canadian company in another country).

Thanks a lot for the reply.
Yes I had been in canada for 2 years with work permit and then after getting PR , i lived just for 10 days.
I am aware of 2 years period and trying my best to come as soon as possible.

So based on the above reply.
Seems like I cannot be with FAMILY for almost 11 months from the date of applying ( when i get job in canada and then apply from canada)...

You dont need to have job to sponsor your spouse for PR but you need to prove how you all will survive.Best bet is to apply as soon as you land in Canada back again and then start looking for job as well...It says 11 months but people are waiting longer than that time as well...Every case is unique and different so processing time varies from case to case..Good luck
