Hi,
I am a foreign worker and working in Canada for past 2 years. My current closed WP expires on Sep 2015. I applied PR on March 2014. I got offer letter from other employer. After getting AOR, will I eligible to apply open WP?
What are the documents do I need to submit in online to file open WP?
What is the best option to join in new employer in May 2014?
Appreciate your quick reply,
Thanks in advance,
Thanks Byrwus. Problem is that current project is going to end on April. So, I can not continue with current employer. I have to leave to home country if I am not eligible to apply Open WP. Does anyone face this situation(current WP is valid for more than 1 years but, would like to change employer)?
Byrwus is right
Since the rules changed in sept 2013, securing a BOWP has been much more difficult if you have more than 4 months left on your work permit.
I had a year left and was let go from my company, I was declined a week after the rules were changed
I however chose to stay in canada and not work - I was lucky I could afford to do that but not everyone can and if you just applied then the wait is longer. I waited 4 months until I got pr and had a job lined up to start immediately.
If you have job offer then new employee must go through lmo process. You are lucky if you found someone who will do this
