I just got offer letter from university for masters, but I am already in Canada just about to complete semester 1 in college(doing 1 year program) . But I had applied to university 2 months prior coming to Canada.I want to know if it is possible to drop 2nd semester at college in Summer as university program starts in September. If it is possible to drop semester on this basis ,,,,is it possible to keep working 20 hrs in that scenario ....
I do not want to continue this program as it is very costly ,,,,plus dropping this semester would save me a lot of money for university but I don't want to take any risks working illegally
Your kind advice needed.
Regards

have a valid study permit,
be a full-time student,
be enrolled at a designated learning institution at the post-secondary level or, in Quebec, a vocational program at the secondary level, and
be studying in an academic, vocational or professional training program that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate that is at least six months in duration. You must stop working on the day you no longer meet the above eligibility requirements (e.g., if you are no longer a full-time student during an academic session.)
If you have a study permit, and are enrolled at a school full-time (or on a scheduled break), you are permitted to work. Any day you are not enrolled full-time (or on a scheduled break), you are not permitted to work.
In other words, if you have the study permit for the new school, and have signed up for classes, prior to dropping the old school, you can continue working.
If you drop the classes before you have your study permit and are enrolled for classes at the new school, you can not work.
