Hey everyone!
I could really use some advice on extending my closed work permit (CWP). Here’s my situation:
  • I’ve got an approved Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA/EIMT) and Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ)(recieved on the 17th), plus a job offer with a yearly salary of >65 000 in Quebec City.(skilled worker)
  • My current closed work permit (CWP) expires on October 15, 2024, so I have less than 30 days left.
  • My passport is good until July 15, 2026.
  • No change to my current job conditions.
So, my questions are:
  • Is it still possible to apply for an extension of my closed work permit (CWP) at this point?
  • If yes, which route is better:
    • doing flag poling at a land border
    • going the online application route?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has any insights. Thanks a lot in advance for any help you can provide!
 
Did you get LMIA positive from ESDC as well.
I heard not all the nationalities are eligible for flag polling.
