Hi all, I applied for my wife's inland PR and received an AOR in her maiden name, even though the application was filed in her married name. She hasn't used her maiden name for years, although she does have a 10 year multi-entry Canada visitor visa in her maiden name that she uses to travel in and out of Canada. The CIC phone representative has been quite unhelpful. Even the OWP application is in her married name.
I searched and saw some old threads with name issues but no one had posted a resolution. I was wondering if anyone has any feedback into the situation. I was going to send in PCCs and don't want things to be lost.
what's the name listed in her passport? her file is going to match THAT name. if she has her married name in her passport, send a copy of the passport to the visa office and request her name to be changed in the application. if her maiden name is in her passport, then that is the name that will be used for her PR approval. if she doesn't want her PR approval to be in her maiden name, then she needs to get her name changed in her passport and submit an updated copy to CIC.
