Hello,
I have already received my COPR and I would be hopefully flying soon to Canada.
Well my question is as my passport if due expiry , I am planning to renew it. However, I am also thinking of changing my maiden surname with my husbands surname for the new passport.
Will this cause any problem ?
Would my copr be still valid which is issued on my maiden surname?
Waiting for reply.
Thank you.

No, it will not be valid. I think that if you really want to change your surname before landing, you can raise a CSE to inform the CIC about the change and send your COPR back. It will take some time for them to reprocess your file and send you a new COPR.

Thanks for the reply.
So how long would the cic team take to reissue COPR?
I am planning to fly in 3 weeks

it could take longer than 3 weeks. honestly, if you already have your tickets booked and unless it's something you really really really want to do i wouldn't risk delays to change passport name. it has 0 effect on your life. landing and getting started is more important.

Sounds good.
Thank you so much for your advise

Hello, I'm in the same situation as you. Copr issued and expired, passport renewal.
Did you go ahead to do the name change? How did it going?
If not, would you advice I do it or fly without doing it?
Trying to which is better - to do it here or go over there to change it?
