Just getting ready to finalize my documents for a NAFTA work permit as a Management Consultant to work in BC.
The duration of the appointment with the company is 6 months with a possibility of extension thereafter. My questions are:
1. Can the company hire me onto their payroll or do I need to be an Independent Contractor?
2. Can the company state that they will re-evaluate my job as a Management Consultant after 6 months?
3. Does the Employer need to apply for a "Offer of Employer number" before I can apply for the visa at the border post.
Also, I already live in BC with my common law partner and we have just sent in our application for PR 2 weeks ago. I am in BC as a visitor status at this time. Do I declare this and use my BC address on the documents?
