I attended a private college and got issues a diploma .
I applied for PGWP I got approved for 7months because my passport was expiring soon so after I renewed it I applied to extend it and got approved for only 3 months I called cic to find out why and I was told the officer that handled my case call my school and got a wrong information that my study was for 1year instead of 2. So I was told to get and official documents from my school that started the 2years study which I did and got a refusal so I applied for a restoration thing I was right and got refused because they said I was not meant to be issued a work permit in the first place.
Now my lawyer thinks I can apply for a temporary residency permit on the grounds that the mistake was not mine in the first place
What is everyone view on this

You probably shouldn't have been issued a PGWP in the first place. Chances are very high the program you completed doesn't qualify for a PGWP since it was taken through a private college.

I have no idea if a TRP will be successful. I guess you can try.

Hopefully you stopped working as soon as your work permit extension was refused. If you didn't, you need to stop immediately.

Good luck - hard to say what will happen.

You have nothing to lose by trying. Note that the TRP alone won't allow you to start working again.
