Hi,
I am the primary applicant for our Express Entry application. My passport is valid till 2019 but has my father's name. Just to be clear I didn't change my surname nor i want to and that's NOT the point I am talking about here. I can get my passport updated with my husband's name instead of my father's name but that will present me with two problems: 1) delay; 2) all my documents (IELTS, medical, degrees equivalencies, police certificates etc.) have my current passport number, whereas a new passport will mean a new passport number (last digit changes). What should I do?
Option 1: Should I just upload the same passport with my father's name.
Option 2: Should I get a new passport and upload scans of both old and new one and in explanation area I add a small paragraph.
Option 3: Please suggest.

Upload your marriage certificate post ITA, that should be sufficient. Anyways they will ask for it post ITA

I have received ITA and I am uploading marriage certificate. But what do you think of option 2 to be on safe side? Will this only complicate matters further or mitigate the situation?

It will complicate the process for you.better to go with option 1 and get it done

I don't think your passport justifies that you are married or not. Your marriage certificate should suffice the requirement.
Option 1 is the best option in my knowledge.
