Hello everyone

I'm trying to complete online application for my study permit as the principal applicant, I am also applying for my wife to accompanying me as first family member.

When answering the question:

Why is your family member visiting Canada?
the answers:
1.Visit - tourism,
2.Visit - all other types
3.Less than 6 month studies
4. Study more than 6 months
5. Work in a work permit exempted category
6. Work (Labour Market Impact Assessment Required)
7. Work with an open work permit
8. Transit

What will be the answer?

Shouldn't it be 7? Spouse Open Work Permit...

Both 2 and 7 are ok. because spouse can come as a visitor and get a vistor record once arriving. or apply for an open work permit.

Yes it can, I wasn't sure what OP's intention was (spouse going to work or not), so I advised based on info they provided. As the poster above me mentioned, if option 2 is selected, they will be issued a Visitor's record that will cover the length of stay OP's study. If OP's spouse will be working, then option 7 is the correct one.

7. Work with an open work permit - this answer is right. I also applied for study permit and an open work permit for my husband.

Yes my wife is accompanying me and would also want her to work aswell.

what was the purpose of travel document. which can be either:
(1) Flight return ticket
(2) itinerary such as: where she will stay or hotel book, and
(3) proof of medical appointment

Unless there is proof the wife will actually only visiting temporarily the cirrect selection is OWP.
