I'm applying for a temporary work visa and while there I plan to live with my boyfriend who will pay most of the bills. Do I still need to show that I can afford to support myself or can I state in my application that my boyfriend will be paying most of my bills when I move there and live with him. Well not all of them, more like he pay the rent and I pay utilities.

If you made mention of your boy friend, then the officer prcossing your TRV might think you do not intend to go back to your country :( Anyway if you are applying for a work visa, this means you already have an employer/LMO and your salary would be your source of income. You would have to attach a copy of your contract as proof of the projected income you'll be receiving.

Thanks. I haven't sent in the application yet as my job is doing the transfer paperwork still. I guess I won't mention my boyfriend then, but that I'll be staying with friends while I'm away.
