I am a Canadian PR holder. I would like to invite my parents to Canada as my wife is expecting. Can I apply for them from online?
Means creating a new gmail id for my father and creating a GCKey account and applying for them. Is it fine to proceed like this for their visitor visa?
Also is there any special setup needed for multiple entry?
Not advisable to mention that your wife is pregnant/nor must the purpose of visit be to take care of your wife and your baby.

All applications are automatically considered for multiple entry. That said, do keep their visit to 3-4 weeks and don't mention about wanting to visit again
If they intend to visit for only a couple of months then TRVs would be a better option. For this, they would need to prove they have strong ties to return home to + a genuine purpose of visit (to spend time with you and your family, sightseeing, etc) + good financial situation of their own
Not to confuse you, but a newborn baby is a good and understandable reason for your parents to come and mention it on a application would cross one line from a check list of an immigration officer. Your parents have clear reason to come to Canada and this is important to underline.
If you are eligible to invite your parents under SuperVisa, I'd suggest to do so no matter what are the plans and how long your parents plan to stay in Canada.

Disagree. You should reserve a supervisa for a longterm stay. Your first entry on a supervisa is the only 2 year stay you get. Then it goes back to 6 months. You can mention you are visiting your family but it is not a good idea to say that you are coming here fr the birth of a grandchild. Many grandparents get refused for this exact reason because they are planning on caring for mother and baby and usually household which is considered work.

From your posts:

"People who got TRV approved with stated reason to take care of a newborn would not be on those treads, right?"
Please post some examples of parents who were recently approved for TRVs for this specific purpose of visit, especially from India
I know several cases when the reason to meet a newborn baby was stated and was approved. Once again, the family with approved visas would not leave the comments on the forum, right.
However, I feel like you want me to agree with you. If it matters, I would like to underline that I am not a consultant and my advice comes from an amateur and not a pro.
