Hello,
If I (US citizen) and my Canadian fiancé are married in the USA within the next few months can I:

(a) move my belongings to Canada, and apply for PR/work permit inland?
(b) do I have to still put my stuff in storage in the US and enter Canada as a visitor?

Has anyone tried to move from the US to Canada since the border closed due to Covid-19?

I have so many questions to figure out before this happens: this is only one!

PS: marrying in the US is one option because there is a program in my city helping with the backlog of marriage license applications, after Covid-19 shut downs: we could marry online here in the US, so we wouldn't have to wait for City Hall/marriage bureaus to open in his city.

When you come to the Port of Entry you will have to demonstrate that you are coming for a legitimate purpose. And if you are planning to stay in Canada and make an in-Canada application you should make that clear.

As for coming with all of your belongings, there are tax advantages (duty free) for importing your possessions after you become a PR.

You would be a visitor, being married to a Canadian doesn’t change that , you’ll be a foreign national arriving into Canada , who just happens to be married to a Canadian
You’re not moving to Canada , you as a foreigner, are visiting , not moving
