Hello Everyone,
Please i'd like some advice on what to do on the following issue.
I did my landing in October 2015, stayed for about 2 weeks but left Canada shortly afterwards due to personal family matters and work in the US. We have visited for about a month the following year. We now want to finally go back and settle in Canada but i am worried for many reasons and i need advice from here.
1.) will my family and i be allowed into Canada with my present PR which does not expire until 2020?
2.) We intend to import our car? will we be allowed to do this?
3.)We intend to also move personal household items that we have accumulated here to Canada- note that we didn't fill/ declare the "Goods to declare" form at the initial landing because we did not have much then- will that affect anything? if not, how do we go about doing this- what are the requirements?
Thank you in advance.

1) Yes, but you may be reported at the border for non-compliance with the Residency Obligation if you have spent more than 1095 days outside Canada since you landed. At the moment you are "cutting it close". This would start the process of revoking your PR status.
2) Depending on the vehicle and it's ownership status, this may be a possibility. It's an involved process and there are other threads about it in the forum.
3) Use forms BSF186/BSF186a to fill out your goods list. You are still entitled to the "Settler Tariff" as you did not previously settle when you landed. Again, this is covered by existing forum threads in detail.

Thank you for your response above.
As per item 3, how do you categorize items like clothing- do you lump them all up or do you list each one individually?
Also, Where do you submit the form- do you carry it on you while going through the boarder or do you give it to the moving company helping out with the goods movement? whom do i contact for this?

Just lump them in to generic groups. You carry the form through the border and present it to CBSA for recording and stamping. That's it for goods accompanying. Same for goods to follow but when they arrive, you need to go to CBSA to get them cleared. The shipping company will need an itemized manifest as well. It's so long since I did this that I can't remember the exact details for "goods to follow" clearance.
Thank you @zardoz for your response. I truly appreciate your help. Honestly, i'm trying to be optimistic about this whole event but it's hard to do so given the numerous hurdles one has to face in resolving this matter. Thank you for your support

Please ensure that you carry proof of previous stays in Canada after landing. Someone ran into same issue and he was missing RO by a day. He showed entry/exit stamp in passport for his 6 days stay in Canada to prove that he was meeting RO.
You will be allowed import your car. With or without duty. Person from above had to pay duty since he bought his car after submitting custom forms in 2015. If your car was bought more than 6 months back and you didn't submit custom docs in 2015 then most certainly you will be allowed to import car duty free if it was made/assembled in North America.
Depending on when you landed you could already be out of residency compliance. When did you land and how many days did you actually spend in Canada? When are you planning on moving?

Thank you canuck78. Does being out of residency compliance impact importation of household items or vehicle? we plan to move sometime in December for good
