Hello All,
I had got my PR and planning to move to canada immediately. I am currently on H1b extension and I don't have stamping for the same.
So my option is I want to move to canada through road directly instead of doing a soft landing first
1. I want to take my car and some basic kitchen utensils(instapot and cookware) and my clothes and TV in my car? Is this allowed if I go by car for the first visit?
2. What is the procedure to export and import the car?
3. I have some savings in the US? do I have to move all my savings into a single account and then transfer it to canada(once i open a bank account there)? Need experts information on this
4. How much money do I need to take with me for initial expenses? like AirBnb and stuff...Can I use my US credit card there?
5. My destination is toronto and I live in virginia. What is best place to enter canada? so I can have smooth entry in terms of car(export and import)
6. I also received a medical surveillance form? once i enter the border what should i do about this? Please advice
Please guide if I am missing anyother important stuff.
Thanks,
Ajit

You can get H1B stamping in Canada. Unless you have strong reasons to not return back to the US, best option is to book appointment with Indian consulate there and get your soft landing as well done. 2 crows with one stone kind of scenario.
Whatever you are proposing seems risky and frankly very haphazard.

Why is that? Someday, he'll have to move permanently to Canada anyway

If H1 stamp on your passport is expired, you can return to US if your I-94 is valid. You must return within 30 days and not visit any other country and tell the CBP officer you want to make use of Automatic Visa Revalidation. I have done that twice at land border and airport without any problems.
