Hey all,
I have an issue that I am panicking about, my mother applied for a TRV in 2023 and it got aoproved. However, in that application eventhough I assisted her I was not the one applying on her belhalf therefore I was not her representative. I realized that in the application form she put my Canadian number as an alternative phone number in the contact information and her Egyptian number as her primary. Mistakenly she didnt know what it indicated and I was too rushed to review that form before submission.
Now I applied for citizenship and that is my primary contact number. Will that cause any issues? I.e. raise any flags that my mother used a representative, whos me (which by its defintion she never did).
I am asking as they will see that my primary number was used as an alternative phone number on my mothers application.
Thank you appreciated

Family helping others is not equivalent to a representative. Adding alternative phone number of son is also not an issue.

appreciated forw
My only concern was that in fine print on the contact information section of the application form it stated that if you are using a representarive add their number below and given that the number is not my mothers was just worried they might view it as such

Are you an over thinker? Relax because this is not an issue at all. They don’t care about phone numbers like that. Contact information is just used to contact you incase they need any information not for background checks and all.

Yes i tend to do
But numbers and emails are usually checked to determine reps and agents specially the hidden ones or if people didnt declare them this is why I am worried
All it indicates is that

IRCC is well aware that many older foreign applicants gets help filing their applications from their kids.
You're not a hidden rep, you're simply a son/daughter in this scenario, one of hundreds if not thousands that do it every year.
It would be known if there was a crackdown on us (I also helped my parents with many applications), but so far, I'm yet to see someone receive a threatening letter from IRCC with a "how dare you do what you did with your mum's visa/PR/passport/whatever app".
Relax. If something slows down your processing, there's an extremely high chance it is not your phone number.

I keep reading about IRCC linking IP addresses of applications with geolocations and numbers and all that and hence me going into full panic mode
No clue how accurate is that

Another question maybe i am overthinking yet again
Is the phrase “filled and submitted the application on your behalf” means filling it entirely without the knowledge of the applicant (just info from them) or does it apply to people as you said who sat down with their parents and filled it out with their presence but just giving them access to technology like a PC

How about sons email, since parent doesnt have an email or doesnt frequently check theirs.

Don't thing it's a cause for concern. Not many parents are tech savvy and use kids details.
