My mother was treated for Breast Cancer 2.5 years ago and is healthy rite now. She has to perform certain test every 3 months for 5 years which are normal since 2 years. She was granted Visit VISA 4 months ago and is currently in Canada.
I am planning to apply her PR under family sponsorship and wondering if her previous health condition will be any issue. Medically she is absolutely fine now however had cancer in her past. Please suggest.

PR for parents is closed for now, it will begin in 2015 ( ie., if you meet LICO and have income proceeding 3 years )- if approved and within quota, she will have to do medicals ( considering in process would be around 2016-2017), you would have to reveal past issues and they will recommend tests - if they don't see her health as excessive demand then it could no issue, it would also have medical surveillance or complete denial - where they ask for explanation and you can appeal.
Process is an easy 3+ year ordeal ( assuming all the current apps are done ), realistically 5 years
