Hello,
I am applying to sponsor my common-law partner who has citizenship in both Australia and Britain but lives in Australia. On the Document Checklist IMM 5589 under Supporting Documents, it asks to submit a copy of the most recently issued passport or travel document. Should we attach copies of both of his most recent passports for both countries? Or just the Australian one as it is the most recent of both?
So is he applying as an Australian citizen, that is his PR application will be attached to his Australian passport ?
Although I have no knowledgeable answer so others can comment here I would include copies of both but stress which passport / citizenship he is applying under. As said that's only my personal view in that more is better than less as far as CIC is concerned.

Yes, that’s correct. He’s Australian by birth, applying from within Australia and that’s his main passport for this application which he will use for the PR. The British Citizenship comes from his parents being from there originally and he’s got family there so he uses that passport when traveling there. We’ve declared it on IMM 0008 that he’s got citizenship with both so that’s why I think we should just include both in case they ask for it later on, but at the same time I don’t want to create any unnecessary confusion.
