My Friend is working on Full time basis as a skilled worker but he is getting paid on monthly basis, like a whole month pay cheque. He works 7.5 hours a day and paid for the days worked in a month. Is he eligible for CEC? He has minimum of one year work experience with more than 30 hours per/ week but all his pay stubs are on monthly basis. Please advice guys

Thanks for clarifying...my friend just wanted to be sure about this matter coz nowadays ottawa is pretty strict about hours, salary and days of work done. Anyways, thanks again

Definitely not a problem as long as the reference letter clearly states working hours. Many places pay monthly instead of weekly or bi-weekly.
Hi,
I have a similar question. I'm working in the oilfield and we don't get paid per hour, it's per day.
I get a monthly guaranteed salary plus a dayrate for each day worked.
If i don't work a single hour in a month i still get my monthly salary, does this count towards CEC. I read that un-paid vacation doesn't count, but this is kind of a paid vacation.
Does anyone have an idea about it?
The other thing is on my payslips are never hours, there are only work days. So how do they know if i worked the 30 hours per week?
