Why would Canada immigration even know or care where your money comes from? You are applying in the spousal category and as such you are not required to have 'landing' funds. You should be sure that you and your wife declare any monies you are physically bringing into Canada in excess of 10000 CAD though or risk having it confiscated if it is found.
Even if they do, you tell them you have been residing in a forgein country and this is your savings you are bringing with you to start your new life in Canada.
CBSA will not ask where your money came from. The wife and I returned to Canada last month carrying $26,000. We declared it and filled out the E677 form (Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report — Individual). No questions asked.
Even if they do, you tell them you have been residing in a forgein country and this is your savings you are bringing with you to start your new life in Canada.
