Am worried for my husband as well as myself.
He applied for a Canadian work permit and he receive a letter from CIC stating that he answered NO to the question if he had ever been refuse a visa or work permit from Canada or any other country.
Honestly his immigration lawyer filled out the forms we looked over it but I guess we didn't do so clearly, he signed and agreed to the information on the form, is basically its all on his shoulders, it was a honest mistake.
CIC ask that he write a letter explaining why he said no and why was he refused.
My question is have anyone went through the same and what was the outcome? Do you think a letter stating to be a genuine mistake will be accepted by CIC?

Typically this results in the application being refused. However you should certainly respond and say this was an error/oversight. There is some small chance the application will still be approved. There is also some risk that IRCC may decide to not just refuse the application - but also apply the misrepresentation ban which is a five year ban from entering Canada.

Hi, i have read your situation and I'm going through the same. I responded NO to a question asking whether i have ever been refused refugee status or an immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or temporary resident visa to Canada or any other country. In 2016 i was denied a US student visa. But when reading the question they mentioned all those visas but didn't mention Student visa which is in the category of non immigrants visa by USA. And a week ago i received a letter too and I'm given 30 days to explain and that in a risk of being banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. It's a spouse visa. Please tell me how your case ended
