Mistake when filling into questionaire and personal profile

Hi everyone, I recently received my ITA and started to process all the papers. However, I mistakenly put in nickname/alias that was never appeared in any of my papers, T4, paystubs, etc. and they ended up asking for a Legal Name Change document to prove that was my real name. I am wondering is there anything I can do about that? Like writing a letter to explain to the officer about my mistake and finger-cross hoping for the best. I know CEC is a new and very strict program and missing or messing up small details can also result in rejection. I hope someone can show me what are the possibilities for this case.
