I was born in India in a city hospital. but i just realized that my passport has my village as my birth place.
I already have my birth certificate from the hospital but I am not sure if that will cause trouble.
the person who filled my passport form did this mistake in 2005...when i was below 18 years.
I can get a birth certificate from my village too. but I am scared to file with that..because i don't remember if I used my hospital birth certificate while applying for student visa in 2007.
I have all my documents ready to submit..but what should i do now ???? :'(
Please help .....I am in a bad situation now.
I had the same problem with my son's passport, his name had two additional letters, we neglected to correct and now his name is wrong in every database in the Canadian government. I spoke with them and they didn't make a fuss about it but they said it is my fault for not fixing the passport and that the databases in various divisions will now have different names for him.
I would fix it if i were you before sending the passport...
place of birth on DOB and Passport should same.so try to get DOB from your Village.
coming to student Visa , check the Student Visa checklist whether you have submited DOB at that time or not.
thank you for reply to ihabkal and canadacec2012
i am not sure how much time will it take to change birth place on passport. and i don't really want to do that.
i will get the DOB certificate from my village too...
