Hey everyone.
US, Common Law, Outland..
So it looks like theres some kind of a back log in Mississauga.
I called back on May 23rd inquiring where we were at with our application since I hadn't heard anything in 3 months. The woman on the phone sent a note to the officers. I called again two weeks later and they had responded to the note saying, "The application is complete, (they talked about my paperwork since I asked if it was attached, and it was), the application is just in the 'back office' of mississauga where it's being processed for transfer." The guy on the phone said, "I wouldn't worry. Everything looks fine on our end. There is just a back log right now."
I guess the good news that came from it is:
1. All of our paperwork that we sent ahead of time was accepted.
2. We found out through this call that we're going to Ottawa. We hadn't known that before.
Hi. We are kind of in the same situation. Our application is in Mississauga since March. However, I was sure it should be on its way to Vienna VO. When I called and ask what is going on I wasn't given a clear answer what is the reason for that. The agent only told that everything looks good and there is no action required from us, just wait. So seems indeed there is a backlog....But my guess is maybe our application ended up on table of the very thorough agent

My husband and I won our appeal May 9. Got notice from IAD 2 weeks later. Now 2 weeks after that we got an email from Ottawa asking for proper email for my husband. Which is odd because we have a representative since September 2014. So contact should have been thru him. I have used another email when dealing with the visa office. I have replied to their email with link they gave me. Online I can't link application but have seen that they received app on June 5. So far so good. We wait for further instructions.

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere on the forum that if you have a representative, you won't be able to link the application. Only the representative can.

I see, thank you! I have not read that. However I don't think it's a big deal to not link. As I can see messages online anyway. I will see what my lawyer says on Monday about this message from Ottawa. Much appreciated.
I know we've discussed this in the January thread as well, but just chiming in as another person seemingly caught in the backlog. Thanks Mason for keeping us up to date on what you're hearing.
Was thinking about this backlog thingy...it sounds at least strange. If there was indeed a backlog...then how on earth ppl from March, April threads report their files being transferred regularly....in case of backlog I would expect to see much more ppl kept in Mississauga...Just thoughts.
