Hi,

I missed the 90 day deadline for applying for a post grad work permit because my passport renewal process took up to 6 months and prevented me from applying for the permit on time. Is there still a way I can go back to canada to work? Should I still try to apply for a work visa and explain my situation with a letter?

I think you're probably out of luck.

If you try applying for a regular work visa, then you will definitely be refused.

At this point I suppose there's no harm in trying to apply for the PGWP and including a letter explaining your situation. If your study permit still valid?

Nope, my study permit has expired. I am no longer in Canada, and the form for the post grad work permit says that I have to be in Canada while applying, or have a valid study permit. So I guess I shouldn't try with the regular work permit then?
