Hey everyone. Quick question.

We recieved our background check letter today requesting a PCC from the Mexican government. We have to send fingerprints, passport photos, etc, to the Canadian embassy in Mexico City.

Our consultant is doing this for us.

The problem is, the government has given us only 30 days for them to recieve the PCC when we do it this way, when Mexico PCCs, in reality, take 2-3 months.

I asked my consultant this and he replied with the following,

"In this case, if we’ve have no confirmation about the police certificate when July 5th rolls around, I will upload the IRCC instructions to order the Mexican certificate and proof of delivery to the embassy; no extension request required because technically IRCC is working against its own deadline."

Can any veterans speak to this? I trust my consultant but wanna make sure this goes smoothly. Is what he is doing technically asking for one?

Thanks

I just got an extension for a Hong Kong Police Clearance by sending IRCC proof that I applied (FedEx receipt, copy of application forms, proof of payment for the certificate) via the Webform. They sent me another 'request' letter, just saying that they're approved the extension. It took a couple of weeks to hear back, though.

That's pretty much what my consultant is doing it seems like?

Gonna chat with her face to face on Monday to figure it out.

Yes, it's not very complicated! She also doesn't have to wait until the last moment to send it if you know you won't make the deadline, they don't mind you being proactive.
