Hi there,
I am trying to find out how I can reside in canada leagally, what is the process?. I been living in the United States illegally since my mom brought me at age 10, I am now 26. I am tired of my limitations here, and sadly Mexico scared the hell out of me, I saw way to many things that a 10 yr old should have not seen. I am under DACA which only means I am legally working here yet I have no other rights as a regular citizen does. No criminal record and I am a small business owner in commercial and residential cleaning. Basically my question is, if I want to apply to immigrate to Canada, do I need to go back to Mexico? If so, how long? I live In Bellingham WA right now which isnt so far from the Canadian border. Thanks for the advice!
You can apply for PR in Canada if you qualify. You will have to see if you qualify based on your post secondary education, skills and language scores. Yes you could be asked to return to Mexico go to an interview and if you got PR you would be banned from the US for 10 years.

You do not need to return to Mexico. I come from a similar background and submitted my Canadian permanent resident application last November. See the link to a blog below, written by another woman in our situation who migrated to Canada successfully via Express Entry in 2018. There is hope.
