Dear friends,

After months of painstaking waiting, finally I received the medical request from CPP-Ottawa. This week both myself and my wife finished our medicals in India. I am hoping in the next 8-10 weeks time I will receive an e-mail from Ottawa to send the passports to Ottawa. Here is my problem-

I do not live in Canada. Laws in India do not allow passports to cross border by mail/courier. I do not have a valid visa to enter Canada. Can I apply for a visitor visa while my PR application is still under process? More importantly will the visa officer be convinced to issue me a visitor visa?

I do not have passport request yet, but I am preparing myself in advance considering that passport request is valid only for 30 days. Please share your thoughts / experience.

Best,
