Medical Insurance for initial 3 months

Hi All,

Which insurance plan (from a good Canadian insurance provider) for a new immigrant for initial months of stay in Ontario can cover covid related expenses as well? Please share the link if you have purchased such a plan.

Currently 3 month period has been waived. Nobody knows for how long. Would check before your arrival. Normally people take out emergency travel medicine insurance and pay out of pocket for routine care. In order to qualify for OHIP you need to be planning on remaining in Ontario for the next 6 out of 12 months and remain in Ontario for the first 5 out of 6 months. You must be making Ontario your permanent home. Each province has their own residency requirements to receive healthcare. A valid healthcare card does not mean you have healthcare coverage. You must also continue to meet the healthcare residency requirement.
