Hi,
I am finishing my medical degree and will be doing a year internship in Ireland from July. I am an Irish citizen in a relationship with a Canadian citizen. She is starting her job in June in Ontario and I will be joining her after my internship.
In order to do this I must apply to CARMS (Canadian residency matching service) to get a medical residency. But in order to do this I need to be a permanent resident of Canada. But in order to get a PR card....I need a job. And to get the job ... I need a PR card. So I am stuck in a catch 22 situation.
Does anybody know how a non Citizen international medical graduate obtains permanent residency status in anticipation of applying for a job as a doctor.
I asked CIC, CARMS and have emailed the immigration office in London who essentially directed me to the immigration website.
Any help would be really appreciated.
