Hello!
What kind of visa are you applying for a medical fellowhip in Canada, Iam confuse. A work permit 1) exemption from Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), or 2) open work permit, or 3) other???

And if the first one is the correct: they asked for an offer of employment (LMIA Exempt) number, where is that number?

Thank you!

Medical fellows are typically LMIA exempt.

You would not be applying for an open work permit. You would be applying for an LMIA-exempt closed work permit tied to your employer. Your employer has to upload the offer of employment to get the number.

Would warn you that the pathway from felllowship to practicing as a physician after your fellowship can be very difficult and in some casesbgwtting licensed isn’t possible. It’s unclear if you’re just coming to gain some more skills and return home which is the case for most fellowships. Are you wanting to remain in Canada? If so whatt country are you from? What speciality? It Is quite confusing that you can be practicing medicine in Canada but once your fellowship ends you can’t practice, you may need to start your residency from scratch if you can actually secure one, etc. Some people are under the false impression that a fellowship is a step towards practicing in Canada.

Hello Doc,
How long did it take for you to get your work permit. Thank you in advance.

There is huge variability in processing times depending on your application, location and background.
Yeah I do understand that but at least they can update the status right
