Hello All,

I have few questions regarding medical examinations for express entry.

Q1) I received an ITA in the last draw of September 2015, I was planning for going to medical examination but I am also waiting for other police clearance documents. If I do not get the police clearance in time and If I reject this ITA will my medical still be valid for my future ITA?

Q2) Also I am in a contract with my company till October 2016 with very high amount of contract braking fine (equivalent of about 12000 CAD). So if I get PR with this ITA I was planning to go to Canada only after completing this one year. But I have read that medical is only valid for 1 year. So is it valid that I just enter the Canada before October and come back to my home country to complete the year and then again go back after that permanently? Is there any specific time period required to stay in Canada for doing that or just entry is enough so that no new medical examination is required?

Any help is appreciated.

Best Regards,

Your medical is valid for one year, and must still be valid when you "land" in Canada to finalize your permanent residence. Plan accordingly.

But it is fine if you land, get your PR, and then go back home and finish your job contract before coming back to live here. You have to land, as I said, while your medical is still valid, and to keep your PR you have to live in Canada for at least two of the next five years after getting it, but that leaves you up to three years to go home and fix things there before taking up residence in Canada.

Not only medical are valid for one year , it must be not older then Six months when u apply for the application .

Thank you Dobes for your reply,

I am not able to understand "But it is fine if you land, get your PR", dont we go to Canada only after we get PR. Please excuse my ignorance but do we have to do some other procedure after we land and what will be the time required for that procedure?

At the time of your PR application approval, you get a Visa stamped in your passport. When you arrive in Canada, The immigration Officer will then ask you about the address where your PR card will be delivered in coming few weeks.

This is what Dobes meant to say "But it is fine if you land, get your PR". Hope you are clear on this point.

Do you have any idea how much time does it take to get PR card?
