Hi all,
With being sponsored by your common-law partner, do you have to have a medical exam BEFORE you apply and include it, or do you only have to get a medical exam if they ask you to?

Hi,
You have to do it, but just try and do it one day before you sending the application.

Thanks.

Why one day? Is this so it is valid for as long as possible? I assume there is probably no waiting period then, whatever documentation you get from the exam is given to you quickly.

Its like this, medical results are valid for one year. So when you get it done just one day before sending your application you will have more time of validity. You have to take a print out of the immigration medical form and find a designated doctor. Doctor will sign that and will you the proof of payment too. Just attach those to the application., Medical results will be sent to CIC directly. Doctor will contact you only if you have an issue with the medicals.
I agree with SL1980. Do your medical before sending the application, but try to do it as close as possible to the date you are submiting your application.
