I am posting this here as I could not find any thread related to that.
I have received letter from immigration canada for medical exam of my parents whom I sponsored. They have Pakistani citizenship but recently got us green card and moved to usa from where they have entered canada and are staying with me now. They were unable to do medical exam from usa. Can their medical exam be done here in canada in this situation or should they do that from their native country Pakistan ?

They tried to do that in USA but panel physician in NJ said their UCI number is not accepted by medical office's system. The UCI number is in fact correct and valid. They gave it up in USA.
Thanks for your help. I will try to get it done by a panel physician here.

Hmm, my husband is American but had it done in Canada, no problems with UCI. There were people in the waiting room from various countries. I would suggest phoning the Canadian panel physician and asking about it. It'd be pretty stupid for a lot of people if you could only get your medical done in your own country, that wouldn't work too well for those living in Canada, would it.
Also if you just go in for an upfront medical not everyone would already have a UCI number yet in the first place.
