I am from the states and have chosen to have our medical a done in Toronto due to both cost and convenience. We are over 5 hours from the closest location in the states. We are visiting in January and would like the medical, blood work and chest x rays done. Is this possible to have everything done the same day or do you have to wait for an appointment with a radiologist and lab? Thank you!! Also what do you find the typical fees to be in canada for everything? Both of our kids have to be examined as well.
I'm no help, since my family had it done in Philadelphia, and all the tests were done at the one location. The physical was actually a joke. For my 6yr old, he had to pee in a cup, they took his pic, measured and weighed him and then the Dr asked if he played any sports to which my son listed all the sports he plays, the Dr listened to his heart, asked him to open and close his mouth and how many fingers he was holding up. My husband was an Xray, blood draw, eye exam, pee in a cup, height, weight, picture, BP check and quick listen to the heart. All that for $585 and they were done in less than an hour with no trauma to either. The paperwork prior to the exam took the most time.
My point, if you have to run all over for a blood draw, physical and Xray, it might be better to make the 5hr trek to the USA location, it'll probably be less painful and rather quick.
My husband has his done just outside of Toronto . He was able to get it all done in the morning . The only appointment we made was to see the DR then onto xrays and blood work . All in one location. It cost $190.00 in total.
Thank you so much for your feedback!! If you have a recommendation on a location in or around Toronto that would be great!! They charge wayyyyyyy less!! I figured since we were going anyway we may as well have everything done there.
