Hi, I have a question regarding medical exam. I was diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago and had surgery 6 years ago. It was cancer but it was one of the easiest form of that bad disease. Now when I go to medical and tell that to a doctor, could I be rejected for a visa in Canada? I am undergoing a monitoring once a year and there is no sign of cancer for 6 years.

As far as I know, they are looking for two things: (1) If your disease is communicable i.e. it can infect others, and (2) if it is an unreasonable burden to the Canadian health system.
You don't have a problem with the first part, just the second. You need to tell your doctor about your problem. Don't be dishonest. Please also bring the documentation that shows you are disease free for the past 6 years. This would certainly help.
I am almost certain that they would require additional tests after you initially visit your doctor i.e. your medical would take more time than a usual applicant, so it would take more time for you to get your visa. However, I don't think they would reject your application on this grounds.
Finally, I'm curious if you have a lot of money ;D ??? If YES!! Then even if you are rejected on the medical grounds, you can go in for a Judicial Review i.e. you would have to hire a Canadian Lawyer, who files a case against the CIC. There was another thread a while ago
(sorry I cannot find it) where someone got rejected on basis of Diabetes. He went in for Judicial Review, but the CIC settled the case before going to court. It seems that they never win such cases. If you really don't have any problems other than the cancer, I am almost certain you will win if you go for JR even if they initially reject you 8)
Tnx for the answer. I just wonder if anyone has been in similar situation. I am not rich so when you say if I have enough money to hire a lawyer, what sum do you have in mind?

Actually you would have to ask lawyers about this. I think at least 5K, or may be up to 10K CAD. Usually they don't tell you their rates, because this depends on how complicated your case is. Their initial consultation is about $300 to $500. After that they tell you the rates.
