I had mine done in North York as it's convenient to me and they speak my language.
Elizabeth Chiu
701 Sheppard Ave East, Suite 306,
Ontario, M2K 2Z3
(Sheppard & Leslie, close to Bessarion subway station)
416-497-9797
Cantonese / English / Mandarin
$175 in total, breakdown and the flow is as below:
- $130 paid at doctor office (form & questionnaire, eye & hearing tests, weight & height, blood pressure, simple body checking, blood test and urine test).
- $45 paid for chest X-Ray in a nearby building (3 traffice lights away, the York Radiology Consultants, 103-1100 Sheppard Ave. East, Willowdale, ON M2K 2W1).
Overall it took less than 2 hours if I remember correctly.
A few people have mentioned the following doctor for the medical exam:
Harvey Kline
Albany Medical Clinic,
807 Albany Avenue,
416-461-9471
I would like to go to him since the location is good for me, but I am having doubts because I can't see him listed on the CIC list of DMP's. I am wondering how you found out about him and if he is approved by the CIC?
On another note, your probably able to exit the country having not done this but your not getting back in. They will know if you have or have not complied with the direction of CIC on your Visa and non-compliance will be grounds to reject future requests for a Visa to Canada. Choose well your path......
If you cannot see him on the list then he is not approved and your wasting your money and time as your results will be rejected duhhhhh! Stick with the list of approved DMP's only
I've looked at the list of avail doctors in my area (vancouver, BC) Anyone out there have one they recommend? And how much it cost? It seems that the figures are all over the place, anywhere from $200-$500..man, immigration is NOT cheap lol
Just wanted to add my experience, and a tip. Dr. Mascarenhas is quick and efficient. Not particularly friendly, but not rude either. He wants to get you in and out, and that is likely what you want too.
As a heads up, if you have supplemental insurance (such as Greenshield) they will cover the blood and urine tests as well as the x-ray, but only if you have receipts from the providers. You will not get these receipts if you go through Dr. Mascarenhas and so can save money by going to a different immigration doctor.
I would also like to know if anyone has experiences with doctors in Vancouver, and the costs.
Also, does anyone know if you need to have an x-ray taken if you have had a TBC vaccination?
