I have question about medical exam form IMM1017 that needs to be submitted with spousal application.
I heard with the new system(e-medical) Copy1 of IMM1017 is to be submitted as to the old Copy 2 IMM1017. My wife did her medical on 26th nov and the physician gave her the old form. Does any1 know if they are still accepting the old forms? I guess not all panel physicians are updated to the new e-medical system. Any comments will be appreciated!!!Thanks.

As per the bulletin all PP's are required to use the new forms. If they do not have they should be able to request the forms from CIC

A previous thread created today on this forum also complained that Panel physicians in Jakarta, Indonesia are still using the old forms

Although the use of the new forms became mandatory as of November 1 2012, in anticipation of the eMedical implementation and the new release of GCMS 4.0.
this is a passage i copied from Panel Members Handbook - EXCERPT - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/handbook-extract.pdf
Panel members performing IMEs
in a region where eMedical has been implemented must use the system to complete and submit all IMEs. Designation as a panel member is dependent on the ability to use the eMedical system. Only in the event of a system outage should paper IMEs be used by eMedical-enabled panel members.
Is there a possibility that the emedical system is not implemented worldwide and rolled out in specific regions?

All PP's have not updated/linked to eMedical System but regardless they are required to use new forms (which they can get from CIC)
both the newly revised forms are not available online IMM1017 AND IMM 1017B, one is electronically generated while the other was supposed to be at the panel physicians office, but it seems many PP are not updated, it is really confusing
With the release of the new GCMS 4.0, it should be noted that all previous versions of the IMM 1017 form as well as the Appendix C will no longer to be used. With this release, there will be two newly-revised IMM 1017 forms:
IMM 1017: Medical Report: Client Biodata and Summary (not available on our website as it will be GCMS-generated along with medical instructions)
IMM 1017B: Upfront Medical Report: Client Biodata and Summary (not available on our website as panel physicians will have these forms in their office. With the implementation of the new IMM 1017B, Appendix C will no longer be required)
I'm curious about this too.
My husband did his medical exam November 7th, 2012 in Los Angeles and he received the Copy 2 so the doctor was using the old form.
Will this be a problem when we hand in our application?
One more thing to worry about.....
There are a lot of us in the same boat.. my husband and son's medicals were done Nov 15 and Dr. gave them the old form (copy 2). And this Dr said he knew all about the new process, but I don't think he had the new forms yet.
Let's hope CIC accepts the older IMM1017...
I am not sure if my husband's doctor used the old form or the new one.
What was he supposed to receive if the doctor used the new form??
My husband received a form that said IMM 1017 Medical report Section A. It had his picture and the doctor filled (hand-written) out his info (name, d.o.b, address) as well as the doctor's office address info.
From what my husband received, did the doctor use the old form or the new form?

On the older version of the form... in the top right corner, right under where it says IMM1017 there is a date - ours said 02-2005...that is the old form. You can also so tell at the bottom of the form it says Copy 1 - Regional Medical Office Copy 2 - Person Examined.
I am suspecting that this system is not in effect yet, even the new handbook for the Panel physcians for the new procedures is not yet published, , there is a sample chapter on-line, but CIC mentioned that they will publish it in January.
Hope that the old forms will be accepted
Fairly sure I had the old form for a December medical
