I'm applying outland Buffalo and am re-doing my medical and 6 required photos. I would like to do them in Canada. Do you have any recommendations for doctors in the Toronto area? I need to have an outland form and I need to specify this, correct? What if they do not have the outland form?
As for the pictures, in the US I haven't come across anyone that can really do the size specifications well. In Canada I would assume it's easier to find places. Again, does anyone have any experience with this?
Thank you all very much. Rough weekend with the second fingerprint denial :-(
The cheapest they do photos - at Costco ( say for pr, not passport)
As far as medicals - the doctor should have the form- just let them know that you are applying outland. The doctor my husband went was in the list of Design med. There was a line to wait, but not too bad. X- rays and other analysis were done in the building almost next to it. Not too impressed with the service, but at least not too complicated.
Hi there. You do need to be sure to tell them you are applying outland when you make the appointment. You need to bring Appendix C but they will provide another form when you go which is what you include in the paperwork. I went to Blacks photography for my pictures but they weren't very cheap, so maybe costco is better. I went to Dr. Kline at Albany Medical Center on the Danforth in Toronto and they did a good job. It was 185 for the exam and another 20 or so for the blood work. The 185 has to be cash but the lab took Visa.
Thank you! I cannot do Costco, I don't have a membership and do not plan on getting one at this time (really doesn't serve me much purpose!) About how much was Black's? If I know someone will for sure do it, that would be great. It's hard to find a place in the US.
When I was in US and was looking for the studio which makes PR photos, couldn't find one. Then I asked my then boyfriend to take a picture of me, used software to make proportional till necessary size and printed with laser color printer on glossy paper, which you could get in office depot or staples or best buy. That actually worked for me to get a PR as skilled worke. Now sponsoring husband who came to Canada thus wanted to go easy way, however it' s more expensive. Go to yellowpages.ca and search around. I remember doing that when we were looking for a photo studio - Black's was one of the most expensive though... And we needed 8 pictures!
We went to Japan Camera Centre in Gatineau because we were in a hurry on our way to the medical exam in Ottawa. It was $14.95 for the first pair, and $9.95 for each additional pair. We needed 5 so we had to get 6, so a total of ~$35 plus tax. I wanted to just take them myself, but we ran out of time.
