I have applied for sponsorship for my parents along with my sister (as a dependant of my parents). We have received letter from Visa office to have their medical checkup done (along with additional documentation).
The problem is my sister is currently studying in US. Can anyone provide an insight on how she could do her medical checkup over in US and will she have to do additional paperwork? I have sent question to respective visa office as well, but haven't heard anything back from them yet (been 4 days).

I am not entirely sure because I am not familiar with parents sponsorship, but checking on CIC website, it seems that the process is the same for spouse sponsorship... in that case, the medical exams can be done anywhere in the world as long as it is with one "panel physician" that is on CIC list. see here for the list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/index.asp
When going to the Panel Physician, your sister will have to indicate with VO it is going through, and I suppose that she will be given a form to prove she has been there.
But wait for more experience members to confirm that, as I am not familiar enough with parents sponsorship to be 100% sure
Good luck,
Sweden

Sweden's advice is correct. All classes of applicants may do their medical exam at any Panel Physician. I would encourage you to submit any proof you get from the Panel Physician (the rules are changing to electronic submission of the medical exam results and x-rays so the specifics depend whether the physicians are on the electronic system or not) to the VO so they know the applicants have done the exams at different locations.
