No news at all. IRCC staff cannot even review documents sent in electronic version for fear of Corona. Not sure but I have a feeling new immigrant applications express entry/student visa/refugees will take precedence and we will just have to wait. I don't see entering canada this year at least.

Has anyone applied for visitor visa and then go ahead and explained reason for urgency. Seems to be a process for it at IRCC. Maybe that's the only way through!

In another thread I saw someone who mailed in their application for criminal rehabiliation (one DUI charge; not associated with any permanent residence application) in January 2020 and they received approval June 2020... the application was processed in Buffalo, NY (USA) despite that this visa office is still listed as closed on the IRCC website. I really don't understand at all what is going on. What are they prioritizing? What do closed visa offices still process? I thought I read that family reunification was considered "essential" and was considered one of the priorities along with approving essential workers for entry... now I am just clueless as to what applications they've decided gets to jump the queue and what applications get to sit and gather dust...

Wow congrats, it looks like maybe you're about to be approved?! If you responded to the PFL and they gave you a pre-arrival plus now they seem to be poking around in your file then that sounds very promising... maybe your PPR will be mailed to you soon... Please keep us posted!
