A friend's wife migrated to Canada 3 years back. She was married at the time she got her COPR and did not intimate the immigration officer or CIC after landing that she's been married but lied that she's engaged to be married. Wife is asking for divorce. And the husband wants to apply for Canadian PR but by telling the truth about his status after getting divorce will that affect his entry if sticks to being true at time of application of PR to Canada?

Since, the husband is considering for applying immigration, what are the documents he needs share with or at the time of immigration or at CIC when he lands in Canada? Would greatly appreciate your suggestions! Since, there not much information available for this online regarding this.

He would say he is divorced and provide the court documents showing the divorce if necessary. He should read through the guides to apply for PR for a program like Express Entry. This is basic information and it will be in the guides regarding what he needs to include in his application.

Just a follow up question: How can the husband apply for PR while there's not marriage certificate to prove he was married (his wife did not allow him to register the marriage in their home country and that is creating a lot of havoc for him. What is the process to apply for Canadian PR amidst a separation or a divorce?) Can the divorce filling documents be used to prove he's going through a separation or does he still have to share the marriage certificate?

why does the husband needed to proof that he was married? If he is applying now on his own, his current status is divorced. He only needs the divorce certificate.
