Hello all .

Me and my wife just got maaried from 1 week and we were planning to do inland sponsorship , when we checked the required papers for inland sponsorship it shows that Marriage certificate is required , we already applied for marriage certificate but they told us that it takes 6-8 weeks ... my status in Canada as Visitor gonna end after 2 weeks .. so is it possible to attach the record of marriage instead of the marriage certificate with the inland sponsorship application ? , is it ok to send the marriage certificate later to the immigration office? ..or whats the best thing to do in our case ? ...

Please Advise

Apply now and then send the certificate when it arrives. Include a letter stating you are doing this. It's pretty common.

I would have said to wait, thinking that the application will be incomplete and they'll just reject it. But if others have done it, so be it!

This one is pretty common. In cases where the applicant is able to wait then usually I say you might as well more because it's just simpler... but in this case, the OP needs to get the application filed because of the deadline of the visa expiring. So OP can just submit with what s/he gets from the original ceremony, and can include a letter saying the official certificate will follow. It's pretty common for people to do this when they need to get the application in. :)

Hi Migo123,

Not sure if you are aware, but you can request the Marriage Certificate online and it takes about 2 weeks to get to you. 6-8 weeks is if you apply by mail.

In the midst of preparing my paperwork, my husband and I forgot to request the marriage certificate so we just requested it online. Waiting on that before sending out our complete package.

Good luck!
