Marital status issue

Got a confussion, i landed in canada in sep 2017 as pr. Got pr card in jan 2018. Went back to india and got married in jan end 2018. Now applied for spouse pr. My question is do we need to update cic about maritial status change before applying for spouse pr (outland).

Any update would be much appriciated.

When you apply , it would be an update itself, 1 dont have to tell them that he/she has married separately
