Hello, I am returning to Canada in February with a PRTD because i lost my PR card. My SIN is also expired and apparently i need my PR card to update my SIN. Can i start working while i wait to receive my new PR card. Or does anyone know if i can use my PRTD to update my SIN

AFAIK, there's no expiration date for the SIN. It's just dormant.
It's a temporary resident SIN that starts with 9. As a PR now i need a new one anyway. Do you know if I can apply for a new SIN with PRTD?

No, you will likely have to wait for your PR card.

When did you land as a PR?

I landed April 2022, but my PR card expires September 2027

PR card expiry date isn’t actually very relevant what is important is being compliant with your RO. You appear to be arriving with around a 1-2 month buffer so you can reapply for a new PR card. You’ll need to be careful about how much time you spend out of Canada for the next few years.

Ok, thanks. I absolutely will not be leaving Canada until i have more than enough days.
Since i spent 7 days in Canada when i initially landed in April 2022 before leaving that counts towards my RO, right?

If you don’t leave Canada for 720 days and you arrive in February you can count the 7 days from when your first landed.
