I applied under 1233 NOC, i`ve 5+ years experience as insurance loss adjuster in 2 independent firms in my country (Dominican Republic). I Investigated claims against insurance for personal, casualty, property loss and damages.
I have my residency approved and i´m planning to travel in April, unless i can get a job offer before that time.
Can i get a job without the CIP or any other license? I still havent met anybody there in that field so any recomendations will be very welcome.
Hi Robert,
I am from the same field, but worked mostly on underwriting side. as far as I know you need to has a license to operate as Loss Adjuster. but may be get employed at some junior level, e.g. claim officer / examiner in insurance company of Loss Adjusting firms.
I found it almost impossible to get a Job in insurance industry while you are out of Canada, I have been applying for numerous jobs and never got a single response of any kind. Similarly it is not easy to land a job in insurance sector even if you are in Canada, as per the feedback i had got from people discussing on various public forums.
Could you please share you where you are planning to land?
One of my friend landed in Toronto last year. He got a job as Insurance Loss adjuster in Marsh Canada Limited http://canada.marsh.com/
Now he is working with ACE Group http://www.acegroup.com/ACE-Worldwide/Canada.html.
