Hi

Im a Danish citizen (Denmark) currently living with my Canadian girlfriend in Alberta, I graduated with my master in January 2011 (from Denmark and Australia). I'm here on a one year working visa under the International Experience Program. Through my network I have gotten in contact with a company that would like to hire me at sponsor me so I can stay when my current visa is up (august).

The company is filling out and LMO right now but is having trouble because they have not advertised for the job anywhere. I met the company randomly and we started talking. When they heard about my experience and the countries I lived and worked in they said they would like to hire me for a International Marketing/Business Development position, they are currently looking at expanding to Europe and Australia, and since I have the right education and experience from both these markets they thought I would be a perfect fit.

Can they still get an LMO approved? They have a job and I fit that job, but since we just met and "created" the position around their needs and my skills they have never advertised this new job anywhere.

Is there any other way they can hire me?

The short answer is no. They can't hire you without an approve LMO and they won't be approved for an LMO unless they advertise the job on Canadian hiring boards. One of the core requirements of an LMO is that a business has to prove they have tried and failed to hire a Canadian for the position.

Why can't the company try advertising the job? If they are looking for very specific experience and capabilities (e.g. experience in the specific regions you mentioned), then hopefully no suitable Canadians will apply and then they can submit the LMO to hire you.

Good luck!
