I'm planning to apply for PR under CEC on the first week of May 2014. My PGWP is about to expire in July 21. Should I ask my employer to apply for LMO for me soon or should I just apply for CEC and wait for my AOR so I could apply for BOWP?
I suppose that is one way of looking at it. BOWP is preferable even if you plan to stay with your employer. Some people on here on closed work permits have been unexpectedly let go and unable to work for other employers.
If I understand correctly your timeline looks something like:
1 May - apply for CEC
Late June - receive AOR for CEC, then apply for BOWP
Early July - receive BOWP
July 21 - PGWP expires
In fact, if it's a BOWP you want, avoid applying for an LMO. BOWP is available only if your permit expires in less than four months AND you don't already have a new positive LMO or work permit.
