LMIA Work Permit - Need to know about Extension Process

Hi,

I am residing at India and have valid LMIA work permit (WP-ICT) for period of 29-OCT-2021 to 28-OCT-2023. I have not travelled to Canada till now. My work permit is valid only for next 10 months.

How many months before should i start apply for extension ?
How to apply for extension ?
Extension can be applied only after travel ?

Are you sure you are on an ICT? An ICT is visa exempt. You would apply for a new work permit and not an extension.

Yes, it's ICT. Intra Company Transfer

So then it wouldn't be an LMIA work permit. It would be LMIA exempt.

If you are outside of Canada then you cannot apply for an extension. You would be applying for a new work permit.

Thanks for the clarification

With LMIA exempt Visa, once i travel to Canada I will be getting a work permit approved at Port of entry. From that point of view, how many grace months needed for extension ?? Or that also the same I should be applying for a new work permit ??
