Does over 1 year's work as a school teacher to children ( any age) qualify as work experience for the Live- In Caregiver program? I am just wondering if I have candidates who have the proof of paid experience as a school teacher, if this will be ok? Or does it have to be specifically nanny experience or pre-school type teacher? Lord knows I don't want another visa rejected!!!!!

Here is a quote from OP 14 manual on processing LIC for experience. It wouldn't appear that work as an elementary teacher would apply.

• Experience in an institutional setting (day care, crèche, hospital, senior citizens home) may
also be considered.

Thanks PMM!!! So here is another question.....If I find a candidate that is currently here as a LIC, but her contract/visa is about to expire, does she have to leave Canada and come back to obtain her new visa under her new LMO/contract?

No, with a new LMO and contract, she can apply to Vegreville for a new work permit.
